NY Attorney General: New Rochelle Restauranteur Gipped Workers Out of $100,000

Paul D. Hurley and Portmarnock Restaurant Corp., d/b/a Desmond's Steakhouse & Grill, was convicted of shortchanging 54 employees of a total of about $100,000 in earnings at the restaurant, New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced. Hurley admitted to "falsely promising [the workers] that they would be paid in the future to induce them to continue working without wages during the opening nights of the posh eatery," which is located on 7th Avenue in New Rochelle.
