NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. New Rochelle said goodbye to one of the city's most popular landmarks, when demolition began at the Mirage Diner as Iona College prepares to construct a new residence hall. Generations of New Rochelle residents and Iona students have enjoyed the classic diner menu at the Mirage over the years, which will be replaced by a mixed-use, six-seven-story residence hall that will house more than 300 students and include retail and restaurant space on the lower levels.
