Plan calls for direct rail service to Penn

After decades of discussion, a plan to bring Metro-North trains into Penn Station on Manhattan's West Side could finally be approved Wednesday. The proposed $743 million proposal is part of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority 's $32 billion 2015-2019 capital plan released Tuesday afternoon, and includes track, bridge, and signal improvements and construction of four new rail stations at former station sites in Co-Op City, Morris Park, Parkchester, and Hunts Point between New Rochelle and Penn Station.
