New Rochelle's Barnard Elementary School was on lockdown for about half an hour Friday afternoon after police were called to the scene to investigate "popping" sounds near the facility, The Journal News reports. Police took an unnamed man into custody for questioning after he was discovered in the area while carrying a pellet gun.
