NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. Even if winter-like weather has arrived in Westchester, hundreds of well-intentioned New Rochelle residents including Mayor Noam Bramson took a trip to the beach on Saturday, Nov. 15, to jump in the water at Glen Island Park. Despite the frigid near 40-degree temperatures, more than 600 daring participants descended on New Rochelle to take the Polar Plunge, a fundraising campaign with proceeds going to benefit nearly 65,000 New York Special Olympians who compete in 22 sports.
