Families are invited to be a part of the Martin Luther King National Day of Service by participating in a special project to help homeless children, which will take place at the New Rochelle Public Library on Saturday, Jan. 17. Children living in the Westhab-Coachman Family Center will be the recipients of "bedtime bags" that volunteer families will make at this session, sponsored by Volunteer New York and United Way of Westchester and Putnam. Volunteers will have the opportunity to use their creative talents to decorate the bags and fashion a bookmark, then stuff the bags with a book, bookmark, dry-erase learning board, toothbrush and toothpaste.
